Sleeping Pokémon cards are their own little collecting category, and once you start noticing them you can’t stop. There are way more than you’d expect spread across decades of sets with cozy indoor scenes, dramatic naps in the wild, and a surprising number of cards where the Pokémon just completely gave up mid-activity. We’ve pulled together our favorites below, from vintage classics to newer cards that deserve way more attention than they get!

Eevee · Scarlet & Violet Promos #SVP173
The one that started this whole list for us! Curled up on a play mat with a Pikachu plushie tucked in beside it, illustrated by Makura Tami, it’s the card that made us realize how many great cozy sleeping cards were out there.
Eevee · Scarlet & Violet Promos #SVP173 on eBay

Munna · Unified Minds #88/236
Munna is the Dream Eater Pokémon, so it makes sense that the one sleeping card it shows up on has Pikachu and Eevee both out cold while Munna watches over them in a soft pastel dreamscape. It’s basically tucking them in. One of our favorites on this whole list and a super underrated cute card.
Munna · Unified Minds #88/236 on eBay

Meowth · Unbroken Bonds #147/214
Meowth is curled up asleep with plushies, and the attack is literally called Caturday, which tells you everything you need to know about the vibe of this card. Another super underrated sleeping card that doesn’t get nearly enough attention.
Meowth · Unbroken Bonds #147/214 on eBay

Espurr · Perfect Order #095/088
The desk lamp is still on, the mug is still there, the books are still open, Espurr just gave up mid-session and that was that. The attack is even called Nap! This card is illustrated by MINAMINAMI Take, whose style gives the whole scene a quiet, painterly quality that makes it feel less like a Pokémon card and more like a still life.
Espurr · Perfect Order #095/088 on eBay

Oshawott · White Flare #105/086
Asleep in a hammock above the water with flowers floating around it, this is one of the few sleeping cards that is bright and summery in a way most sleeping cards aren’t.
Oshawott · White Flare #105/086 on eBay

Vulpix · Neo Destiny #91/105
Curled up asleep at the base of a tree, tails wrapped around itself. One of our favorite sleeping cards in the vintage era and illustrated by Masako Yamashita, whose warm, storybook style makes it feel timeless.
Vulpix · Neo Destiny #91/105 on eBay

Charizard V · Sword & Shield Promos #SWSH260
Flames still burning around it, Charizard has simply decided it’s done for the day. One eye is still open though, and with Venusaur lurking in the background, maybe it’s less of a nap and more of a stakeout. Illustrated by Oswaldo KATO in a flat graphic style that gives the whole card a storybook vibe.
Charizard V · Sword & Shield Promos #SWSH260 on eBay

Bulbasaur · Stellar Crown #143/142
Dozing on a sunny windowsill with potted plants all around it and a Pidgey perched nearby, this is one of the coziest cards in the whole Stellar Crown set. People often pair it with Squirtle · Stellar Crown and Charmander · SVP044 as a Kanto starter trio binder page!
Bulbasaur · Stellar Crown #143/142 on eBay

Bulbasaur · 151 #166/165
The 151 Bulbasaur is a completely different vibe from the Stellar Crown one, tucked into a dense jungle scene, half-hidden by leaves, looking like it found a spot and decided that was enough. Illustrated by Yoriyuki Ikegami, whose lush and layered style makes the whole card feel like you’re looking through a window into a rainforest.
Bulbasaur · 151 #166/165 on eBay

Bulbasaur · Expedition Base Set #94/165
One more Bulba, and our personal favorite. The watercolour style artwork gives it a softness that most modern cards don’t have. A lovely vintage pick for any sleeping binder page.
Bulbasaur · Expedition Base Set #94/165 on eBay

Litten · Temporal Forces #167/162
The whole card is basically a Litten shrine: there’s Litten on the books, Litten on the book covers, Litten figurines, and if you look closely, a little Meowth cameo tucked into the top left. The actual sleeping Litten is draped over the top shelf in the corner, completely unbothered by how many versions of itself are staring back at it. Illustrated by Makura Tami, it’s one of the more chaotic cozy cards on this list in the best way!
Litten · Temporal Forces #167/162 on eBay

Sprigatito · Paldea Evolved #196/191
Sprigatito is curled up asleep in a garden full of flowers, the warm pinks and greens making it one of the prettiest sleeping cards in the modern era.
Sprigatito · Paldea Evolved #196/191 on eBay

Pikachu · Lost Origin #TG05
Pikachu and Akari are both out cold under a tree, leaning against each other in the dappled shade. It’s one of the trainer gallery cards that feels more like an illustration than a card. Illustrated by Atsushi Furusawa, it has that soft, anime adjacent warmth that makes the TG series so collectible.
Pikachu · Lost Origin #TG05/TG30 on eBay

Raichu · Paldea Evolved #211/193
Electricity crackling off it mid-sleep, in bed upside down, Raichu is having a very relatable Saturday morning in this soft and dreamy card illustrated by Toshinao Aoki.
Raichu · Paldea Evolved #211/193 on eBay

Mew · Crown Zenith #GG10/GG70 or VSTAR Universe #183/172
Mew is fast asleep in a moonlit forest while an entire cast of Pokémon goes about their night around it. The contrast between how unbothered Mew is and everything happening nearby is what makes this one worth hunting down.
We’ve always preferred the Japanese version from VSTAR Universe. The silver border was made for this art!
Mew · Crown Zenith #GG10/GG70 on eBay · Japanese VSTAR Universe #183/172 on eBay

Snorlax · Scarlet & Violet Promos #SVP051
The SVP051 Snorlax is everything you want from a Snorlax card: massive, completely unbothered, asleep by a river with a Pidgey and Diglett keeping it company. Clean modern art, accessible price, and an easy addition to any sleeping binder page.
Snorlax · Scarlet & Violet Promos #SVP051 on eBay

Snorlax · Wizards Promo #49
Another great Snorlax card, just a couple decades earlier. Yellow background, big Zzz, Snorlax flat out asleep with a little Eevee tucked beside it, this one is a classic. Illustrated by Craig Turvey and released in 2002, it’s a great promo card and one of the most iconic sleeping cards in the entire TCG. The flavor text reads “Very lazy. Just eats and sleeps.” which is honestly aspirational.
Snorlax · Wizards Promo #49 on eBay

Dunsparce · Crown Zenith #GG23/GG70
Another great home life card, the room is the real subject here. Posters, a globe, trophies, a desk lamp, books everywhere. Dunsparce itself is almost an afterthought tucked into the bottom of the frame, which feels on-brand.
Dunsparce · Crown Zenith #GG23/GG70 on eBay

Lechonk · Obsidian Flames #209/197
Out cold mid-meal, food scattered across the tiled floor, clearly having given up on consciousness entirely. Illustrated by Narumi Sato, who somehow made this look charming rather than chaotic. One of the best Lechonk cards and a crowd favorite for a reason!
Lechonk · Obsidian Flames #209/197 on eBay

Shuckle · Mega Evolution #136/132
Surrounded by an almost psychedelic tangle of berry vines in a flat graphic style that looks unlike almost anything else in the TCG, Shuckle is dozing away completely unbothered. Illustrated by OKUBO, it’s the kind of card that catches your eye in a binder immediately.
Shuckle · Mega Evolution #136/132 on eBay

Koraidon · Scarlet & Violet Promos #SVP014
The sketch style linework makes this feel like a page torn from an expedition journal, which fits perfectly given the flavor text mentions it being spotted by researchers. A surprisingly gentle card for one of the box legendaries, illustrated by Mina Nakai.
Koraidon · Scarlet & Violet Promos #SVP014 on eBay

Pikachu · Chinese 151 #171/151 AR
Pikachu is wide awake while Psyduck naps on the grass beside it, with Jigglypuff and Dragonite visible in the background too, making this a great cameo card on top of everything else. This is a Chinese exclusive Art Rare illustrated by Oswaldo KATO, so it comes with a premium price tag, but the art makes it one of the most visually distinctive cards in the whole 151 lineup.
Pikachu · Chinese 151 #171/151 AR on eBay

Tyranitar V · Battle Styles #155/163
Dirty dishes everywhere, a crying Pignite in the background, and Tyranitar flat out asleep in the middle of it all. The implication that it fell asleep mid-rampage is what makes this one of the funniest sleeping cards on this list. Illustrated by HYOGONOSUKE.
Tyranitar V · Battle Styles #155/163 on eBay

Dragonite V · Evolving Skies #193/203
Somehow asleep mid-flight with its wings folded in, Dragonite is suspended in soft blues and warm light that makes the whole card feel dreamlike. A fitting look for a flying Pokémon catching a nap above the clouds.
Dragonite V · Evolving Skies #193/203 on eBay

Espeon VMAX · Japanese Promos #189/S-P
Fully asleep and drifting over a European style town, completely unaware of what’s below. The rainbow foil treatment on the Japanese promo version is stunning and one of those cards that looks completely different in hand than it does in photos.
Espeon VMAX · Japanese Promos #189/S-P on eBay

Vileplume GX · Cosmic Eclipse #211/236
Vileplume and Erika are both asleep together in a sunlit forest, leaning against each other in a scene that feels warm without trying too hard. One of the more overlooked cards from Cosmic Eclipse and a lovely pick for a sleeping binder page.
Vileplume GX · Cosmic Eclipse #211/236 on eBay
