Once you start noticing apples in Pokémon card art, you can’t stop. Whether it’s a starter clutching a candy apple, a Snorlax mid-feast, or a single apple tucked into the background of a battle scene, there are way more apple cards out there than you’d expect.

We love a great niche card category, and when we started putting this one together, we were surprised just how deep the apple rabbit hole went.

We’ve gathered them all here in one running list, grouped by how the apple shows up, from starring roles to “blink and you’ll miss it” cameos. Here’s every Pokémon card with an apple in it that we’ve found.

Fuecoco & Its Evolutions

Fuecoco and its evolutions are basically the mascots of apple cards. The whole line loves a good apple, and it shows up again and again, from the grocery-store chaos of Fuecoco to the packed festival streets on Crocalor and Skeledirge ex. It’s one of the most rewarding apple sub-themes to chase, and an easy full art set to want all of.

Applin & Its Apple Evolutions

You can’t have an apple card list without the actual apple Pokémon. Applin literally lives inside an apple, and its art leans all the way into it, whether it’s peeking out of a tree full of hidden Applin, curled up as a shiny green apple, or nestled among the fruit in a cozy kitchen scene. Better yet, the whole family is apple-themed: Applin evolves into Flapple, Appletun, Dipplin, and Hydrapple, so the fruit motif carries right through the evolution line. Appletun is posed beside baskets of apples in a sunlit orchard, and the rest keep that delicious theme going.

These are the most on-theme cards on the whole list, and there are more on the way: Applin was recently revealed as the mascot of the Chinese Gem Pack Vol. 6, featured right on the pack art, with an upcoming Illustration Rare showing it in a gorgeous kitchen still life.

Applin Cameos

Beyond its own cards, Applin loves to photobomb other Pokémon’s art. Once you know to look for it, you’ll spot the little apple creature hiding in the background of cards like Morpeko, Dudunsparce, and Clive, some of the most fun hidden apples on this whole list.

We have a round-up of the best Pokémon cameo cards, as well as a full database of the complete Pokémon cameo card list!

Sleepy & Eating Pokémon with Apples

No Pokémon says “apple” quite like the ones caught mid-snack. Snorlax appears again and again surrounded by fruit, and the Slowpoke, Slowbro, Slowking, and Munchlax cards all lean into that same lazy, food-loving orchard energy. These are some of the coziest cards on the list.

Item & Trainer Apple Cards

Some of the clearest apples show up on item and trainer cards. Leftovers famously features a bitten apple core, Picnic Basket is stuffed with fruit, and trainers like Carmine, Kieran, Eri, and Saguaro all have apples worked into their scenes.

Orchard & Background Apples

Plenty of cards hide an apple (or a whole apple tree) somewhere in the scene. These range from Pokémon posed in orchards to fruit sitting in the background, like Holon Lass reaching up to pick one, Slurpuff at a bakery spread, Pikachu at a picnic, a whole Starly flock in an apple grove, and plenty more worth hunting for.
