Flowers show up everywhere in the Pokémon TCG once you start looking. Whole sets lean on them, illustration rares are full of them, and there’s a surprising number of cards where a trainer is just quietly tending a garden. It’s one of the prettiest recurring themes in the hobby and it makes for a gorgeous binder page. We’ve pulled together our favorites below, sorted by the kind of flower card you’re after!

Pokémon in Flower Fields

Our favorite category, and the biggest one here. These are cards where the Pokémon is just out in a meadow having a nice time. The Black Bolt cards in particular gave us a run of gorgeous ones!

Cards with Plant & Flower Pokémon

We can’t have a post like this without Pokémon who are literally plants. Grass types make up a huge chunk of the flower theme on their own, and between the Bulbasaur line, the Oddish family, and everything Petilil-adjacent, you could fill a binder without leaving this category.

Botanical Cards

These lean more into the plant side than the flower side, with leaves, vines, and greenery doing the heavy lifting. If you like a more muted green palette than the bright floral stuff, this is the group for you!

Urban Flower Cards

A nicher but lovely group where the greenery is growing in a city rather than a meadow. Flower boxes, window planters, that sort of thing. There’s something really appealing about the contrast.

Pokémon Gardening Cards

Cards where somebody, Pokémon or trainer, is actually doing the work. Watering, planting, tending. These are some of the most charming cards in the whole theme because there’s a little story going on in each one.

Pokémon Trainers in Flowers & Plants

Erika, Gardenia, and Wally basically carry this section between them, which makes sense given they’re the grass type specialists. If you collect trainer cards at all, this is a great themed subset to chase, and there are enough versions of each that you can go as deep as you like.

Misc. Flower Cards

A few more on-theme picks that didn’t fit neatly anywhere else but were too good to leave off!
